New Training for the Season of Tactile Museum Visits
This week, Red Oak led a training on museum accessibility for blind and deaf visitors, as part of the “Doors. Please Touch” (Prière de toucher) project, in collaboration with the Omero Tactile Museum in Ancona, Italy.
Museum directors, staff, and master’s students in museology and archaeology from the Lebanese University participated in this training, preparing for the upcoming season of inclusive museum tours.
This year, a new partner museum joins the initiative: the Byblos Fossils Museum, alongside the National Museum of Beirut and the MACAM – Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art.
Since 2018, Doors. Please Touch has enabled blind and deaf visitors to experience Lebanese art and heritage through touch, multisensory experiences, and sharing, promoting cultural inclusion for all.
