Exploring Marine Fossils Through Touch at the Memory of Time Museum

As part of the DOORS. PLEASE TOUCH project, Red Oak organized a special visit to the Memory of Time Museum for students with intellectual disabilities from Pere Roberts School. The visit offered participants an engaging sensory learning experience through the exploration of marine fossils, including fish, plants, and other sea creatures preserved for millions of years. Students discovered the exhibits through touch, watched an educational video on fossil formation, and took part in interactive activities designed to encourage curiosity and participation. Through tactile exploration and guided learning, students actively engaged with the museum's collection, asked questions, shared observations, and deepened their understanding of Lebanon's natural history. The visit highlighted the importance of accessible cultural experiences and demonstrated how museums can create meaningful opportunities for learning, discovery, and inclusion for all visitors.
