Bodies in Motion, Hearts Connected

An Inspiring Dialogue on Resilience, Sport, and Inclusion

At the National Library in Baakline, an open discussion brought together students from Shouf National College with Toufic Allouche, President of the Tripoli Disabled Sport Association.

Through his personal journey, Toufic Allouche shared how he transformed a life-changing accident into a source of strength and commitment. His intervention highlighted the discrimination faced by persons with disabilities in Lebanon, framing these challenges as violations of fundamental rights.

The discussion also emphasized the essential role of sport, particularly basketball, and education in fostering resilience, self-confidence, and inclusion.

Students engaged actively throughout the exchange, asking a wide range of questions about his experience, the lessons he learned, the impact on his life, and his future ambitions. The conversation concluded with reflections on the future of sport in Lebanon and advice for younger generations.

Toufic Allouche’s openness and generosity created a supportive environment, encouraging students to express themselves freely and engage in meaningful dialogue.

This initiative is part of the project Bodies in Motion, Hearts in Connection, implemented by RedOak in collaboration with La Guilde and with the support of the French Embassy in Lebanon
