Yoga in the Dark: Experiencing Movement Beyond Sight

As part of an inclusive wellness initiative, yoga sessions brought together mothers and their daughters, including those with disabilities, in a shared moment of connection and well-being.
Led by Rebecca Samarani, the sessions introduced participants to a unique experience of yoga practiced in the dark. By removing the visual dimension, participants were invited to reconnect with their bodies, their breath, and their internal sensations.

Each participant engaged at their own pace. Some explored the postures gradually, while others moved with ease, confidence, and enthusiasm. This diversity of approaches reflected a space where individual rhythms were respected and valued.

More than a physical activity, the sessions created an environment that encouraged presence, trust, and connection — both with oneself and with others. The experience highlighted yoga as a powerful tool for inclusion, offering an accessible and supportive space for all participants.

This initiative is part of the project Bodies in Motion, Hearts in Connection, implemented by RedOak in collaboration with La Guilde and with the support of the French Embassy in Lebanon.
